Preparing for the SAT
Our RHS staff work to prepare students to take the PSAT / SAT tests in many different ways. In addition to in-class practice and instruction, we're hosting other activities to help our students feel confident and ready. Take a look at what's happening for RHS students during the weeks leading up to the test:

Get Locked In! SAT Review Session
Students can attend a free review session covering questions in the reading and writing section and tips for writing the essay. Sign up to attend one of the three dates offered:
SAT Club Tutoring
RHS SAT Club members offer in-person tutoring for SAT questions in both math and reading every other Wednesday during Advisory period. Students can sign up to reserve their spot and show the sign-up receipt as their Advisory pass. |
Vocab Saturdays and
Math Question of the Week Weekly social media posts are sent out with useful vocabulary terms to know and math problems to solve with visuals on how to solve them. SAT Club "How-to-Solve" Videos
RHS SAT Club members provide videos for solving upper-level SAT problems in both math and reading. Videos are shared weekly on the RHS Instrgram feed and also collected here for one-stop access to any of the videos. |
Desmos Videos
Each week, two social media posts will be sent out about using the Desmos digital calculator to solve math questions. Each post is a different video averaging 6 minutes in length and containishelpful tips for applying to all types of math questions. |
Practice Tests and Instructional Materials
The sites below each contain free practice materials, including how-to information and practice tests.

Khan Academy: Digital SAT Prep
Contains instructional lessons, explanatory videos, practice questions, and mini-quizzes for all the individual skills that are measured on the tests. |
College Board Bluebook App
Includes seven different practice tests and three essay practice tests. Practice with the features that will be available to you on the actual test, such as the highlights & notes tool and answer choice cross-out. Click on this download link to install it on your personal device. On your district Chromebook, it's already installed. |
LearningExpress Library: SAT Test Prep
Provides eight practice tests with options to be timed or untimed, and to either view the answers right after each question or to see all answers once you're done. Provided free through the Michigan eLibrary. |
